President's Message

12/15/14

December 15, 2014

Dear Chicago Chapter Colleagues:

December is here and it is amazing how quickly a year goes by. As I entered 2014, I was full of ideas and had a list of projects to do, and before I knew it, my term was over. It is with gratitude that I look back. I am proud of what we were able to accomplish as we worked together for the benefit of the Chapter.

With your support, this year, twenty-eight dedicated Chicago Chapter candidates have earned their MAI or SRA designations. In addition, sixteen members have added a Review Designation to their credentials. Congratulations to all of our 2014 designees.

We have also encouraged many along their designation path by awarding twelve scholarships. Those included two Crommelin Scholarships, one Schroeder Scholarship, and nine Trainee Scholarships under our new program. The Scholarship Program has been near and dear to my heart and I ask that you continue to help our membership grow through these programs.

We have achieved goals in service to our members by expanding our offerings to accommodate the needs of both commercial and residential appraisers around the state - especially building a core of members supporting the Chapter in Central Illinois.

At our social outings, we just plain had fun. Whether it was cooking, dining, golfing or watching the horses race, we enjoyed spending time making new friends and connecting with old ones.

Looking forward, please check out our website and see where you can "Get Involved"!

As the outgoing President of the Chicago Chapter, I want to thank all of you for the support you have given me during 2014. I have received nothing but kindness and encouragement from all of you. It certainly has been an honor and privilege to serve as your President.

As the New Year begins, your new officers bring their ideas, perspectives and new energy. I am confident that we will continue to grow under their leadership. Please give incoming President, George Collins your full support as he embarks on his 2015 term of office.

Happy Holidays to all.
